Bracknell: Easy to access and great for running.

Bracknell is one of the “New Towns”, expanded from a historic Berkshire village during the 1960’s to provide a pleasant home outside London’s green belt. Easily accessible from London and the Thames Valley by road, rail & cycle paths. It has a great network of footpaths segregated from traffic making it ideal for training on tarmac plus ready access to trails in the woods.

We use Bracknell Sports Centre athletic track for some of our mid-week interval sessions, we also use many local parks.

The club often runs in Swinley Forest, also known as The Lookout, part of the Crown Estate. It provides a wealth of trail running with some modest little hills to challenge the legs and lungs. Watch out for deer, especially if running at night!

The pin shows Bracknell. Zoom in and you’ll see it’s at South Hill Park, which is one of several regular meeting points. As a small club, we don’t have a dedicated clubhouse, but we do have a great choice of venues to run from. Keep an eye on the weekly news to see where each run starts from. The circle is approx 25km / 15 miles radius, typically the area our members live in, though you’re welcome from anywhere!
